There are many situations in which parents choose to hold a naming ceremony rather than a traditional christening.  Parents may not have religious beliefs or their beliefs may differ from each other; they may wish their child to choose their own religious beliefs at a later age; they may simply want the opportunity to welcome their child into the community in a unique and personal way.  Holding a naming ceremony does not preclude your child from being christianed at a later date.

There are no legal elements in a naming ceremony so the choices are limitless.  You may include traditional elements such as candle lighting or annoiting of the child along with less traditional ceremonies such as a balloon release or a wishing tree.  Readings and music are also a great way to reflect the personality of your child or the feelings of your entire family.

Fees

The standard fee for a weekend ceremony is $120.00. Additional charges may be added for travel, risk or out of pocket expenses. These will be discussed at our planning meeting and agreed up front so that you recieve only one invoice with all costs included. A security deposit will be required at the time of booking and payment in full must be made at least 1 week prior to the ceremony.
